F-ADA is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to help architect, build, and maintain our end-to-end autonomy software platform for unmanned systems. As a founding team member you will have the opportunity to work on real problems from day one, take on an incredible amount of responsibility in a high ownership environment, and grow with the company as we scale.
As part of this role, you will own the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of core software systems. You will support existing contracts and lead the development of new capabilities from a software perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain F-ADA’s end-to-end software platform, spanning frontend applications, backend services, GPU-enabled inference workloads, and field-deployed edge devices.
- Improve build, release, CI/CD, configuration, and device-management workflows for a growing fleet of deployed vehicles.
- Build intuitive web interfaces for operators and customers to manage systems, view imagery and telemetry, collect data, inspect results, and deploy mission-specific models.
- Collaborate with autonomy, perception, controls, and hardware engineers to productize new capabilities quickly.
- Work directly with customers and field operators to understand operational needs and rapidly turn feedback into product improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals and experience building production-quality systems in Python and C++.
- Experience developing software on Linux and debugging complex software/hardware systems.
- Experience with real-time or performance-sensitive systems, including concurrent processing, networking, video, sensor data, or robotics software.
- Ability to independently scope ambiguous problems, build practical solutions, and take ownership from prototype through deployment.
- Comfort working across a broad technical stack rather than within a narrowly defined role.
- Eligible to work on U.S. defense programs; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, computer vision, or edge-AI systems.
- Experience deploying models with PyTorch, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, CUDA, OpenCV, or similar inference and computer-vision tooling.
- Part 107 Remote Pilot
- Experience with distributed systems, unreliable networks, mesh networking, or remote fleet management.
- Open-source contributions or substantial personal projects involving embedded systems, robotics, autonomy, or high-performance software.
